We invite local tourism industry leaders to get together and hear from World Heritage experts on what we can do to protect the Reef’s world heritage status and ensure a healthy Reef for future generations. With the UNESCO and IUCN Reactive Monitoring Mission report being released late last year, we have a unique opportunity as an industry to act as powerful spokespeople of the Reef. AMCS will brief the tourism industry on a prepared statement, calling for stronger reef management by our Queensland and Australian governments in the lead up to the next World Heritage meeting in September.
