Our Whitsunday Voice - Our Advocacy Agenda
Whitsunday Regional Council is committed to delivering the best outcomes for our community, but we can’t do it alone. Some major infrastructure projects and essential programs require funding beyond our means or fall under the responsibility of other levels of government.
Through strong advocacy, Council works to secure funding, influence policy decisions and build partnerships that help bring critical projects to life. By ensuring the needs of our region are heard at state and federal levels, we can drive investment, improve infrastructure and create a more vibrant and sustainable future for the Whitsundays.
Our Council is committed to representing the Whitsunday community's interests through:
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating with neighboring councils, industry stakeholders and community groups to present unified positions on regional priorities.
- Proactive Leadership: Our Mayor and Councillors actively engage with government officials and agencies to voice the region's needs and opportunities.
- Community Engagement: Ensuring that the voices of our residents are heard and integrated into our advocacy efforts, reflecting the true aspirations and needs of the Whitsundays.
