eBooks and eAudiobooks

Library members have free access 24/7 to a wide range of eBooks and eAudiobooks available to read on your computer, tablet or mobile device.

Bolinda Digital

To get started on Bolinda Digital you will need your library barcode, password and an email account.

You are able to borrow and download 10 eAudiobooks and 10 eBooks each for a 2 week loan and reserve any titles that may currently be on loan.  When reserved titles are ready to download the title will be automatically loaned to you and you will be advised via email that it is ready.  Content is continually updated with stacks of popular new release titles available every day.

Hoopla

With hoopla digital, library members can now Instantly Read, Watch, and Listen to their choice of more than 790,000 titles, for free!   

Whitsunday Regional Library card holders can borrow, instantly stream, and download a maximum of 10 titles per month across a range of media formats including audiobooks, eBooks, comics, music, movies and television.  Content can be streamed from any computer or mobile device by downloading the hoopla digital app for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire HDX devices or online. 

To get started online:

  1. Click on Get Started Today button;
  2. Enter an email and password;
  3. Choose Whitsunday Regional Council; and
  4. Enter your library card barcode and birthdate in the ddmmyy format as the PIN.

Hoopla BingePass

Introducing hoopla BingePass! It's a brand-new way to explore great online content - and a lot of it! Get unlimited streaming for 7 days with a single borrow. Just update your hoopla app and tap the "More" in the bottom navigation to view hoopla BingePass. The Great Courses is the first BingePass and gives you access to science, history, wellness, travel and a whole lot more.  No matter your interest, watch an entire course or multiple courses using just one hoopla borrow.

Hoopla Borrowing Limits 

From 1 August 2026, Whitsunday Regional Libraries will introduce a daily borrowing limit for Hoopla Instant Borrows to help manage the library's monthly digital collection budget.

Most customers will continue to borrow as usual. However, if the daily borrowing limit has been reached, Instant Borrows will be temporarily unavailable until the following day, when borrowing automatically resumes.

Library members have free access 24/7 to a wide range of eMagazines and eNewspapers available to read on your computer, tablet or mobile device.

PressReader gives you access to more than 7,000 magazines and newspapers of which over 470 are Australian.

To set up PressReader visit the website or download the free app:

  1. Click on Sign In located in the top right hand corner
  2. Click on the blue Libraries & Groups button
  3. Search Whitsunday Regional Council and click on Library – Whitsunday Regional Council
  4. Enter your Library membership number and your PIN
  5. Click on the green sign in button
  6. Optional - Enter your email address, a new password, and your name to create a free account. This will allow you to retain your downloads and reading history beyond the 30-day access period.
