Making of local laws
2. Whitsunday Regional Council (the “Council”) has, by resolution dated 17 June 2026, made the subordinate local law, Subordinate Local Law (Amending) Whitsunday Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2026 (Subordinate Local Law).
3. The Subordinate Local Law amends Whitsunday Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2014 and is authorised to be made under Whitsunday Regional Council Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2014.
Purpose and effect
4. The purpose and general effect of the Subordinate Local Law is to amend Whitsunday Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2014 to:
a) update and simplify the declaration of a traffic area;
b) update and simplify off-street regulated parking mapping; and
c) update and simplify infringement notice penalty amounts for minor traffic offences.
Inspection
5. Copies of the Subordinate Local Law and the consolidated version of the Whitsunday Regional Council Subordinate Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2014 may be:
a) inspected and purchased at Council’s public office and viewed by the public on the Council’s website; and
b) viewed by the public on the website of the Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers.
