Major local businesses back Mayor’s Charity Ball as Platinum Sponsors

Whitsunday Regional Council is proud to announce Fergus Builders and Airlie Beach Hotel as Platinum Sponsors of the 2026 Mayor’s Charity Ball, ‘Whispers of the West’.
Mayor Ry Collins said Council was proud to see strong support from the local business community for one of the region’s signature fundraising events.
“The Mayor’s Charity Ball is not only an opportunity to bring our community together for a memorable evening, but also a chance to support an organisation that provides an essential service to our region,” Mayor Collins said.
“We sincerely thank Fergus Builders and Airlie Beach Hotel for coming on board as Platinum Sponsors and helping make this important event possible.”
Set to take place on Saturday 25 July 2026 at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre, the event will bring together community members, businesses and supporters for an elegant evening inspired by the timeless spirit of the west, blending sophistication, country charm and community generosity in support of an important regional cause.
This year’s Mayor’s Charity Ball will raise funds for BMA CQ Rescue, supporting the critical emergency helicopter service that provides life-saving rescues and urgent medical transfers across the region. Between October and December last year alone, BMA CQ Rescue responded to 67 missions within the Whitsundays as part of 146 total taskings across the quarter, including an incredibly busy 48-hour period where crews attended seven separate missions.
Mayor Ry Collins said the statistics highlighted the importance of continuing to support the organisation and its crews. “These figures are a powerful reminder of just how essential BMA CQ Rescue is to our region,” Mayor Collins said.
“Their crews are there for our community during some of the most critical moments imaginable, delivering expert care and emergency response when people need it most.
“We are proud that this year’s Mayor’s Charity Ball will continue to support the ongoing work of this incredible service.”
Tickets are on sale now via the Whitsunday Regional Council website. Sponsorship opportunities are still available, with a range of packages on offer for businesses looking to support this community event.
