Galbraith Park 13 years of National Tree Day Plantings

Join us as we celebrate 30 years of National Tree Day, and 13 years of National Tree Day plantings at Galbraith Park.

What’s On?

  • FREE native plant giveaways so you can have your Tree Day planting at home as well as other goodies
  • Sausage sizzle
  • Kid's activities
  • “Guess the height of that tree” and “how many seeds are in the jar” competitions
  • Tours of some of the planting sites.
  • Weed identification (please bring in a sealed plastic bag) and advice

Prizes include:

  • Native plants, including our own special Whitsunday Bottle Tree
  • Books
  • Free property visit from Landcare to help identify native plants on property, or weed identification and control, or advice on rehabilitation of your property

If you or a family member helped us to plant trees at a National Tree Day as far back as 2008 or as recently as 2025, why not come down to see how those efforts have contributed to the riparian zone along Galbraith and Beames creeks.
