19 November, 2015 4:25 PM

Tropical Low Update

A tropical low is currently located to the south of the Solomon Islands, near 14.3°S, 159.5°E. It has been moving to the southwest at about 8 km/h over the last 24 hours.

This system now has a very low chance (less than 5%) of developing into a tropical cyclone due to unfavourable upper atmosphere winds.

Over the next three days the system is expected to continue tracking to the west southwest and may bring increased shower activity to central and northern Queensland over the weekend.

This system is not expected to cause severe weather to Queensland.

No further updates will be provided unless the situation changes considerably.
