Works for Queensland

The  Works for Queensland (W4Q) program is a $200 million Queensland Government initiative funded under the State Infrastructure Fund. W4Q is about employing local businesses, creating jobs and stimulating the local economy. The W4Q projects include upgrades to Council-owned park equipment and facilities, shade structures and shelters, foreshore improvements, water and waste, installation of solar panels and more.

In 2018 and 2019, Council was allocated $4.07 million under Round 2 of the W4Q funding, and a wide range of projects have now been completed. In 2017, Council delivered $4.36 million in projects under Round 1 of W4Q funding.

Wildlife Road Park, Jubilee Pocket Stage 2  - Small unisex toilet block, 12 new car parks on Jubilee Pocket Rd, footpaths, flying fox, mouse wheel and sheltered seating. Completed
Stormvogel Drive Park, Mandalay New playground, swing set, softfall and shade sails. Completed
Shingley Beach, Cannonvale Stage 2 - New BBQ shelter and seating. Completed
Cannonvale Lake, on Parker Road Stage 2 - Car park, small unisex toilet block, swing set and half-basketball court. Completed
Cannonvale Foreshore Stage 2 - BBQ shelters and additional seating.  Completed
Pioneer Park, Proserpine Stage 1 - New climbing net playground, track ride with tower, mouse wheel and swing set including a bird's nest swing. Completed
Keith Johns Park, Proserpine Stage 1 - New small unisex toilet block and tower play equipment. Completed
Sonoma Street shared path, Collinsville Pedestrian and cycle path along Sonoma Street. Completed
Miller Street Lookout, Collinsville Lookout platform  and 6-bay carpark located near the Water Reservoirs.  Completed
Hay Street shared path, Bowen Pedestrian and cycle path, connecting to existing pathways. Completed
Gideon Pott Park, Bowen Stage 2 - New BBQs and shelters, new climbing playground, new skatepark to replace the existing facility. Completed
Rose Bay Park BBQ shelter and additional sheltered seating. Completed
